The primary tooling that AoS uses, is our custom tree spades (4 sizes available, main unit is 62") mounted on a 8410 John Deere tractor. We also utilise a 6000psi diesel waterjet for root cutting and preparation, 5t Hitachi Escavator as well as the usual tungsten chainsaws and other arborist equipment. We have a Prime Mover with 5t crane and drop deck float which can be utilised on sites for transport within sites.
Russell, a level 3 Arborist, started his employ as a Wood Machinist/Joiner at DS&B Joinery in 1994 completing his trade in 1998. Russell worked in private industry as consultant/Arborist until 2000. Russell then cemented his ability in Arborculture and Tree Relocation work as the Senior Tree Surgeon with Toowoomba City Council from 2002 through 2005. Russell left his emply at TCC to establish Ace of Spades - Tree Relocators in late 2005. Russell has been actively involved in Mine Site Bottle Tree relocations, Bottle Tree supply and Installation into the National Arboretum in Canberra, Arborculture Reporting for Government/Council funded projects eg. BrisbaneTunnel Project, Airport Link and Department of Defense, Onsite international advice on Arbor projects in Abudabi and Dubai, and many small commercial ventures, whilst still maintaining contact with the community for minor tree work/climbing, and stump grinding.
Our Team is regularly involved with Maranoa Regional Council, Goondiwindi Regional Council and Toowoomba Regional Council, Ipswich City Council, Brisbane City Council consulting and peforming Bottle Tree relocations, New Tree installation, and preventative/restorative works within these areas.
Ace of spades (AoS) was formed in 2005, specialising in Tree Relocation and management. AoS specialises in Bottle Trees, Grass Trees and Canary Island Palms, but can source and supply many more. AoS Maintains an arboretum of Trees available for relocation on it's land holdings in Toowoomba and Withcott, Qld. The team of certified arborists now working for AoS also include members with EWP tickets and Crane/Dogman Tickets.
